Dr Anna Kaufman

Counselling Psychologist,
Cognitive Analytic Therapist
& WTP Associate

I am here to support women and female entrepreneurs wherever you are on your personal or professional journey.  We will work collaboratively to explore whatever is holding you back in the workplace or in your personal relationships and may be contributing to feelings of stuck-ness, frustration or dissatisfaction.

Therapy will offer a space to share your story and attend to interpersonal relationships from both past and presentI work flexibly and creatively and welcome you to bring whatever feels possible to support growth and a better understanding of yourself through new insights.

Depending on your goals, I can provide strategies and skills, or offer a space for trauma processing, using specialist tools including maps (yes like road maps but for people) and will enable you to move forward at a pace that feels comfortable.

I also have extensive experience working with women with more hidden ways of coping, ranging from avoidance and overworking to gambling addiction and eating disorders. I am also able to offer support to those women whose lives are touched or dominated by neurodiversity, whether this is through your own diagnosis or that of a relative or offspring

Female Therapist and Psychologist specialising in working with female psychologists.

I offer daytime appointments on Mondays and Tuesdays and see clients weekly and fortnightly online.

I also offer one off appointments should that feel more helpful.

I appreciate what a big investment of time and money therapy can be and it is
my mission to ensure that you find the work to be meaningful and beneficial.

About Me

Introduction

I enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds. I currently divide my time between NHS work, family life and my own true passions which include swimming, music and nature. Prior to gaining my Psychology qualifications, I worked in the corporate world and bring some understanding of the pressures, as well as the types of challenges women can come up against in fast paced environments. For example, returning to work after maternity leave and having to manage the very real juggle of being a working mum can be immensely challenging.

My Experience

For the past 15 years, I have worked with people who have experienced significant struggles with their mental health and relationships in secondary care, community mental health, Eating Disorder Services and gambling addiction specialist services where I developed a specialist interest. My work is predicated on the value of research and research-based clinical practice

I have published research investigating the experience of treatment for female problem gamblers and co-authored a chapter. I use CAT, EMDR and Compassion Focussed Therapy in my practice because these models are not symptom led, but take into account the whole, embodied individual in context.
